Verstappen dominates the race from start to finish
Max Verstappen continued his impressive start to the 2023 Formula 1 season with a dominant victory at the Canadian Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver led from start to finish, taking his sixth win from eight races this year.
Verstappen started the race from pole position and quickly built up a lead over the chasing pack. He controlled the race throughout, pitting for fresh tyres on lap 20 and then extending his lead over the chasing pack.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished second, ahead of Mercedes' George Russell. Carlos Sainz Jr. and Sergio Perez rounded out the top five.
The win extends Verstappen's lead in the drivers' championship to 46 points over Leclerc. Red Bull also extended their lead in the constructors' championship to 76 points over Ferrari.
