Remembering Vittorio Adorni's Accomplishments in the Cycling World

The cycling community is mourning the loss of legendary Italian cyclist Vittorio Adorni, who passed away on December 24, 2022, at the age of 85. Born in Parma, Italy, on November 14, 1937, Adorni was a dominant force in professional cycling during the 1960s.

Adorni's greatest triumph came in 1968 when he won the UCI Road World Championships in Imola, Italy. This victory solidified his place in cycling history as one of the sport's greatest riders. Throughout his career, Adorni also achieved notable successes in other prestigious races, including victories in the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France.

Beyond his competitive achievements, Adorni was known for his sportsmanship and dedication to the sport. He was a respected figure both on and off the bike and served as the president of the Italian Cycling Federation from 1997 to 2005.
